What is Romanticitis Disconecteditis? And how do you cure it?

Are you this person: You say you want one thing, and keep choosing something else? Only to find yourself heartbroken and alone… Over and over and over.

Sandy’s History of Bad Choices

Maybe you’re like my client Sandy.

Sandy’s looking for someone who’s warm, likes to share her religious beliefs and values, and her love of hiking and family.

But consistently chose the exact opposite — men who are not only cold and superficial, with no spiritual beliefs whatsoever, but who hate physical exercise and nature, and don’t talk to their mothers.

Until, that is, she read my book, Big Wild Love

That’s when she realized all the ways she’d been shortchanging herself, by not understanding or loving herself enough to go for what she really wanted. Or, by not knowing what she wanted from a relationship.

Romanticitis Disconnecteditis

If her story sounds like yours, chances are you have what she did: a condition I lovingly refer to as “Romanticitis Disconnecteditis” (RD) (and yes, I made this name up).

“RD” keeps us divided between what we think or say we want versus what we actually do want in love.

And that’s a problem. Because if you’re approaching love and relationship saying you want one thing, but going for another, your journey to healthy love with someone else will be a wild and wonky one.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

How to Cure this Wide-Spread Ailment

Instead, take the time to know what you want from love – and make the commitment to yourself to hold true to it. Because knowing your end goal is the cure!

To get you started, I invite you to write down what you want from love and then hold it up against your choices. Tell me all about it in the comments!

Do you think you have RD?

Here's a quiz you can take to find out for sure!
